Dragon Fruit Smoothie

Dragon Fruit Smoothie

For an easy Dragon Fruit Smoothie, I like to use frozen fruits because I can store them in the freezer, and they are great for making smoothies thick. The combination of  bananas and fruit ready to be tossed into a smoothie are frozen, so simply toss them with milk, and a scoop of protein powder into a blender. I like protein powder because it is pure protein, no carbohydrates, no artificial sweeteners, and it tastes good and gives the smoothie a creamy, light texture.

Dragon fruit has a delicate taste with a medium to mild sweetness, creamy (some say mushy) flesh and crunchy seeds, is grown from several cacti native to Mexico and Central and South America.

The taste is similar, but the color of your smoothie varies depending on the type of dragon fruit you use. I use bananas to sweeten my smoothies, but the color will depend on the variety of your fruit, white or pink pulp, that you use in your smoothie.

You can  add other fruits such as strawberries, kiwi, lime or pineapple to this recipe. You could also add extra plant-based milk to thin out your smoothie. Take this basic dragon fruit smoothie recipe and make it your own with your choice of yogurt, and other frozen fruits.

If you like a super-thick smoothie, use frozen fruit, or if you want a thin, liquid smoothie, use fresh fruit. To make and prepare this smoothie, store the frozen fruit in a well-stocked freezer.

Dragon Fruit tastes similar to kiwi or pear and is a great fruit for many different recipes. I prefer to buy frozen fruits because I find them more convenient and more consistent in quality. Dragon fruit (also known as pitaya) has a mild flavor and is slightly sweet, so you can easily swap it for any mango or pineapple for your favorite green smoothie.

Enjoy this dragon fruit in a smoothie bowl or make it extra thick in consistency by adding a topping of choice such as cereal, extra vegan yogurt or fresh fruit on top.

You can turn a chia seed smoothie into a dragon fruit smoothie bowl, or put any topping on the smoothie. Start with a basic smoothie with any number of fruits (frozen or fresh). Then pour the smoothie into a glass bowl and decorate with more fruit.

Bananas, mangoes, strawberries, blueberries and pineapples give the Dragon Fruit Smoothie a great flavor. A Dragon Fruit smoothie works well with non-dairy milk such as almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, etc. In this smoothie recipe, the flavor is brightened with berries, and you can also add in lime and a hint of grated ginger for more zing.

Smoothies with healthy ingredients are an excellent part of any weight loss plan. Avoid smoothies that add sugar, fruit juice, sweetened yogurt, ice cream or canned fruit.

When making a smoothie, it is easy to put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until there are no more pieces of fruit or vegetable. If the smoothie is too thick, add some liquid water or dairy-free milk.

If you want the smoothie to be thicker, add a few smoothie ice cubes to the mixture. In this way, you do not need to add ice to dilute the drink and make it even thicker. This basic dragon fruit smoothie has a sweet taste, so you don’t have to add sweeteners, and it contains antioxidants.

If you don’t have one, make sure you mix for at least a few minutes until the smoothie is smooth. Stop scraping and add a little more water if necessary to give it the right consistency.

For thicker smoothies, start with less almond milk and add more when mixing. If the smoothie is too thick, add as much almond milk as is necessary to achieve the desired consistency. For a thicker smoothie bowl texture, use a little more vegetable milk to add more of a slurping smoothie.
